Was placed 4th in her first ODE 80cms, got 4th placing in the Show Hunter winter series, after only attending 2 out of 4 shows with an 11 year old rider. Gymsee is the only one that did not grow. But her attitude and kindness makes up for it. She has little springs and loves to work for you! Love this mare! Has been to 3 Pony Club Camps. She loves swimming. She won the games. As my daughter Charlotte, almost 12, is now allowed to ride her, she will be taking Gymsee to Pony Club next season, will do ODE's and Show Hunter and maybe dressage on her. Otherwise I will be doing the dressage on her. At the end of last year Charlotte van der Zwan and I visited Sue at Astek and went to see all the stallions and mares. Sue Fowler is the best breeder I had to deal with. Very compassionate and will do anything to make the whole AI experience as easy as possible. |

I was humbled by such a warm welcome into Sue Fowler's home and stud. It was so refreshing to meet such honest, enthusiastic and generous people. I was very impressed by the way Astek Stud is run and the quality of their foals, mares, youngsters and stallions. It was extremely hard to choose just one lovely horse, but in the end Astek Guardsman stood out to me. He has fabulous conformation, wonderful movement and a quiet and easy nature, all attributes that I think will make a top eventer. She recently had 18 months off due to a paddock injury (in the mean time produced the most gorgeous BIG filly. Shortly before her injury we were working on level 4/5 dressage hoping to compete at level 4 at HOY the following year. The last test she did was level 3 where we received a 72% and 77%! She’s a sweet but spicy mare with heaps of character, elasticity and intelligence, I just love working and being with her. We purchased Twiggy through Peter and Debbie Barke who were selling her on behalf :) |
