Set amongst the Canterbury Plains in New Zealand, Astek Stud is breeding top quality versatile sport horses of excellent temperaments, conformation, movement, jumping ability and type, for both New Zealand and international equestrian markets.

Our four sporthorse stallions at stud - Holsteiner 'Ramirez', Dutch Warmblood 'Voltaire II', Hanoverian 'Kinnordy Gym Bello', and Arabian 'Elenbee's R-Rated' offer breeders world class bloodlines to produce quality performance prospects for all disciplines. We strive to breed very attractive, trainable horses who have the pedigree and natural ability for jumping, but with superior movement for dressage performance as well. "Versatility" is our focus for producing a modern equine athlete who can compete with success in any of the dressage, showjumping, eventing, showhunter/equitation and showing type disciplines.

As well as breeding horses for sale, we also breed and train our own performance horses, all of which we find exciting and most rewarding.

It is a proven fact that bloodlines are the all important factor in producing top quality progeny as influence from up to 8 generations past can emerge in young stock. Our intention is to breed high calibre horses by strictly choosing only the best mares to breed to complimentary stallions. We aim to constantly better our broodmare team and are always on the lookout for new mares. Our select numbers mean we can get to know each horse on an individual basis as well as ensure time to imprint and handle foals once born - we strongly believe in quality not quantity when it comes to breeding.
